HERMITS IN BIG CITIES

The difficulties inherent to living alone and isolated in the countryside or in the mountains have compelled hermits to live in big cities. They support themselves however they can and go completely unnoticed by the “masses”, though not by the LORD.

I know of hermits living in Paris and Rome – cities that have considerable numbers of them. I know other hermits live in other cities. They live in small homes or attics, working just a few hours a day to pay their bills and spending the rest of their time in prayer and in nurturing their spirit and the contemplative life. I know that their commitment and their FAITH are ENORMOUS. I give infinite THANKS to GOD for them and for the many FAVOURS and GIFTS the LORD provides us with.
